This blog was created as a site for interaction between the virtual people in the game HEAT and the participants who role-play as scientist in the game. Each team consists of a physicist, an engineer and an environmental scientist. Teams are competing for the contract to design housing for a city in 2020 reducing energy costs is the new imperative. Teams interact with a wider virtual team. On the first posts you can read their bios.

Hey Johnsons!! hope you like our house design! I am going to tell you the area of your house in square feet just for fun!
Ground floor+patio: 264
Second floor: 136
Roof of house and garage: 213
Total area of house+roof: 613
Total area of house-roof: 400
ok scratch that entire comment i was mistaken and i counted wrong. the total area of the house is 6400 square feet. sorry about the missunder standing. MAJOR mistake in the calculations.
Wow, now were you initially working in SIMS feet? I know that has happened to me before. The measurement that we need is the part of the house that is heated. would this be the total area of the house - the roof? Now if it is then we just need to X 400 X 16 which would be 6,400 square feet. Oh my!!! if that is correct we are in BIG trouble because Mrs Cunningham says that at 2007 prices she paid $213.87 to heat 1,650 square feet in March (see her post. That was when we had natural gas to heat our homes. Now heating is 10X more expensive. Even with the energy savings I just know we can't afford this !!!
What am i going to do ?????
